DESCRIPTION:Through the Foundation’s DreamCatchers for Kids TM program (Wish Fund)\, the children created their own special teddy bear including the name\, the clothes they would wear and the accessories right from their hospital beds. The wish list was picked up by the volunteers and taken to the Build-A-Bear Workshop in the Southern Park Mall. All the bears were made and then delivered back to the children at the hospital by the nurses. This takes place at the Akron Childrens Hospital Mahoning Valley during the holiday season. If you would like to help\, email us at info@hopemv.org. \nThis event takes place sometime during the holiday season in December of each year. \nApply now to grant a child the wish of their lives.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrating All for the Kids Day \nChronic and terminal illnesses impact the lives of tens of thousands of children daily in the United States. These conditions affect not only the everyday life and activities of a child but present challenges for parents\, siblings\, families\, and friends. Children with chronic and terminal illnesses also require extensive therapies and medical care all of which can come at a great cost\, to families financially and emotionally. All for the Kids Day\, a national day of recognition\, provides hope and support for these kids and their families. \nIn an effort to raise awareness Anthony Spano\, Founder & Executive Director of The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley\, saw the need for assisting these families right in the Mahoning Valley. But he knew that the need for assistance reached well beyond the valley. So Anthony joined with a national network of organizations\, community leaders and legislators all sharing a mission to proclaim May 15 the National All for the Kids Day in March of 2016. In December 2016\, Gov. John Kasich signed Ohio HB 580 into law\, which included companion legislation offered by Senate Minority Leader Joe Schiavoni\, D-33\, establishing the National All for the Kids Day for May 15. Click here to see the state law.

DESCRIPTION:On November 19\, 2022\, from 5-8 pm there will be a Celebrity Bartending Fundraising Event at JR’z Pub located at 1722 S. Raccoon Rd.\, Austintown\, OH 44515. In conjunction with Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates\, this event will donate all tips and donations received to The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley. \nThe event is open to the public and the band RELAPSE will start playing at 8 pm. “We’re excited to take part in our Celebrity Bartender Event to benefit The Hope Foundation of The Mahoning Valley on November 19th. As our Engagement Committee began to discuss and grow the idea of this event\, we\nquickly made the decision that if we were going to do this\, we wanted to provide some help to our community\, specifically children. \nWe thought partnering with an organization like The Hope Foundation of The Mahoning Valley was a perfect match! A common goal to help local children and their families overcome challenging times. From my perspective\, the meaning of this event is for us to be provided with an opportunity to show what YOA is about. To ban together! To create a special bond with a child and their parents. To Invite them into our Family! If we can provide a little HOPE for these children\, it’s MISSON ACCOMPLISHED!  Let’s show up and have a fun time … understanding our Mission\,” stated Taylor Cera\, Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates. “The funds that are raised will go toward helping children who are battling chronic and terminal illnesses\,” stated Anthony Spano\, Executive Director of The Hope Foundation. \nAll donations are used to help our area children battling chronic and terminal illnesses.
