Always the first to arrive and the last to leave, George was the driving force in getting things done, most often after a full day at work. He is the founder of an annual softball game, giving everyone, regardless of his or her disability, a turn in the batters box. He has also spearheaded many events for our veterans and has led a group of workshop participants in volunteer activities such as Second Harvest Food Bank.
The examples above are just a few, but they are good examples of George’s approach and commitment to the community. These are things that George created and initiated in a very hands-on manner. Each of these projects has involved many helping hands. The events developed by George continue to inspire people to make them happen! They continue to occur, meaning that the lives of the youth and adults with developmental disabilities will continue to be affected in a positive way!
