Thank You, Mahoning Valley — What a Year It Has Been
At the close of every fiscal year, we pause. We look back at the months behind us and feel something that is hard to put into words, part gratitude, part humility, and part a quiet determination to keep going. In 2025, joined with our incredible partners and supporters, we provided support and smiles for nearly 53 children and families through our Financial Assistance Program and our DreamCatchers for Kids Fund, ensuring families had what they needed to keep their children safe, comfortable, and home, where love matters most. 25 Teddy Bears Donated to Children at Akron Children’s Hospital
On Saturday, December 7, the children at Akron Children’s Hospital of Mahoning Valley were the recipients of 25 soft, cuddly teddy bear and kids’ books, donated by Author, Editor-in-Chief and Executive Producer Nate Dinet (Poland, Ohio) from The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley. Hope Foundation makes Build-a-Bears for Hospitalized Kids
SOURCE WKBN BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — Volunteers from the Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley were hard at work in the Build-A-Bear Workshop Sunday morning. Groups come together to Purchase a Special Wheelchair during this Holiday Season
(Youngstown, OH) The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley and Operation Search and Help funded through The Youngstown Foundation have partnered together to purchase a special wheelchair for 17-year-old Lianne Flores who was diagnosed with Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy at the age of 8. This special wheelchair will enable Lianne to stand and by being able to stand it will help to keep her healthy and will also help her with her dream to attend college. Making a Difference in Children’s Lives-The Foundation makes donation to help the Leonard Kirtz School
(Youngstown, OH) The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley recently presented a $3,000 donation check toward the funding campaign to raise $250,000 for new playground equipment for the Leonard Kirtz School, which is operated by the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Efforts began in 2020 to raise money through the school’s playground project committee with various activities within the building as well as reaching out to former staff & teachers and area businesses.
