Financial Assistance for Children/Families
The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley (H.F.M.V.), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, was formed in 2007 to continue the tradition established with the inaugural “Game of Hope” Classic in 2005. The event’s success inspired its organizers to create an organization that was dedicated to raising funds on a much wider level, allowing for it to help more children. The mission of The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is to provide charitable and/or financial support to help improve the lives of chronically/terminally ill children and their families. The Foundation and its volunteers feel that every child’s life is valuable, and we aim to support any local children and families that shares our common goal of helping each of these children exceed potential. The ages that we serve are 3 to 18, and the child must be that age once the application is filed and medically diagnosed.
A Board of Trustees governs the Foundation and is responsible for establishing the policies for assistance, expenses, or donations consistent with the stated purpose for which The Foundation was established. The Grant Committee of the Board of Trustees will consider requests for assistance/expenses from all eligible children and/or families and/or committed to using the funds within The Foundation’s mission. Children/Families can only receive funds every three (3) years from the Hope Foundation.
