Kristin Demidovich
H.O.P.E. Honoree 2024
Kristin “Kiki” Demidovich, a 2000 Cardinal Mooney graduate, returned to the area in 2017 to work with her family’s medical service company Health Care Providers. The Health Care Provider team provides medical care and services to over 20 Long Term Care and Assisted Living Communities in Mahoning and Columbiana counties. When Kristin started her work with the HCP team, she was determined to connect different groups in the community to provide wishes to those in the Long-Term Care and Assisted Living communities, the often forgotten population. Kristin created HCPWishes in 2019, where wishes are granted to local seniors through local schools, Animal Charity of Ohio Humane Society, global organizations like Bombas socks and Kynd Kits and many others. Close to 10,000 wishes have been granted since 2019. More than 20 senior communities totalling close to 2000 seniors have been impacted. Over 8 local schools have helped with wishes and over 25 rescue dogs have been trained for pet therapy and have been adopted out through the HCPWishes program.
Wishes heard from the senior community are not extravagant wishes, they are simple things like a new pair of warm socks, new body wash, cards from local children that remind them that they do in fact matter, pet visits to remind them of animals they once owned, doing crafts with local students, creating and hanging suncatchers in their windows to bring brightness to their days, soft blankets for comfort and warmth, fun coloring books, exercise your brain word puzzles and so many more.
Kristin’s wish is to form partnerships with larger organizations to continue providing wishes on a regular basis to the senior community and partnering with local schools and local animal groups to be a part of the wish granting. Kristin also has been active and an advocate for BuddyUP tennis with the Down Syndrome Association of the Valley and serves on the board of Animal Charity of Ohio Humane Society here in town. While living in Chicago she helped lead inner city tennis camps for youth and the national Inspiring Children Foundation tennis fundraiser events on Necker Island and in Las Vegas.
