Ryan Will Address the Media Monday, May 15 at the Cassese’s MVR at 1 pm
(Youngstown, OH) – In celebration of All For the Kids Awareness Day, the media & public is invited to attend a press conference with U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13, on Monday, May 15 at the Cassese MVR in downtown Youngstown. The press conference is scheduled for 1 pm.
Congressman Ryan joins Anthony Spano, founder/executive director of The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, and other state representatives to discuss the importance of community service and how events like All For the Kids Awareness Day help to motivate and encourage public involvement. Senate Minority Leader, Joe Schiavoni, D-33, helped designate May 15 as All For the Kids Awareness Day with companion legislation to Ohio HB 580, which Gov. John Kasich signed into law in December 2016.
“The idea behind All For the Kids Awareness Day is to raise awareness to the issues that families face as they care for a child with a chronic or terminal illness,” Spano says. “We want to help turn that increased awareness into community support and action.”
Ryan will present Spano with a senatorial citation signed by Sen. Schiavoni, commemorating All For the Kids Awareness Day.
“Getting a bill passed through the legislature is no easy feat and we were able to do this in seven to eight months,” Spano says. “This is a testament to our elected officials’ belief in helping our community’s children and their families.”
The media and public are welcome to attend. The Cassese MVR is located at 410 N Walnut Street in Youngstown.
