(Youngstown, OH) The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, Huntington Bank & WKBN 27 First News “Caring for Our Community” are looking for who is Honorable. Outstanding. Philanthropic. Excellent individuals. If you know that person, nominate him/her for the 2019 H.O.P.E. Award for Lifetime Achievement. We want nominees who go above and beyond to help or assist others in the Valley without expecting recognition.The H.O.P.E nominees will be recognized, and the recipient will be announced by the selection committee, at the 9th annual Wine for Hope on Friday, April 12, 2019. The event, which will be held at The Lake Club in Poland will feature an awards presentation highlighting the efforts of this year’s recipient to improve the quality of life of chronically/terminally ill children and their families in our community.
Past recipients include the late Henry Nemenz (local businessman & grocery store owner), Jack Gocala, Sr (retired Youngstown State University police chief), George Gabriel (Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities), Raymond Morrow (youth advocate) & Kathy Cook (St. Joseph Warren Hospital-Mercy Health).The Hope Foundation is grateful for the support of it partnering sponsors American Business Center Inc., IGS and Northeast Behavioral Healthcare, plus WKBN 27 First News, 33 WYTV, MIX 98.9, Komara Jewelers, Lamar Advertising Company and Minuteman Press of Youngstown.

The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley (H.F.M.V.), a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 2007 after the increasing success and popularity of the Game of Hope Charity Basketball Classic. Our unpaid staff, volunteers, and supporting individuals and organizations are committed to our mission. They provide charitable and financial support to local individual/families to assist them on improving the lives of chronically/terminally ill children.
