Youngstown, Ohio-This past Spring, the Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley approved and appointed Amber James to the Board of Trustees for a term through 2020, starting July 1.
Amber James is a come-back Mahoning Valley resident: having been born in Youngstown, she moved out of county with family, and now resides in Canfield with her husband, William. With wonderful memories of childhood and growing up with family in the valley, Amber is thrilled to one day have children of her own to raise among family and friends.
Over the last several years, Amber has had the opportunity to work among various industries, all within the human resources field. From county and state government, to private retail and distribution, to healthcare and higher education. Although the landscape of various regulations and corporate structures may change, one thing that is always constant is the promise that people can be individualistic, yet collectively makeup one employee body and together makeup the heart of any organization.
Currently, Amber is the Human Resources Manager for Vibra Hospital of Mahoning Valley with two branches in Boardman and Warren. Additionally, Amber works with her husband, William J. James, who is the owner/operator of the Southern Park Mall Chick-fil-A (a blessing-filled journey of its’ own)! In her spare time, she enjoys letting her creativity flow through writing; whether employee communication, poetry, business articles or fictional adventures, as the only boundary is the edge of the paper.
Amber graduated from Kent State University with her Master of Business Administration in 2017 and currently holds certifications as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, SHRM certified professional, and Organizational Development certified professional. Amber has served on the board for the Western Reserve Chapter of SHRM (Society for Human Resources Management), and currently serves on the board for the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals.
