
Cheryl Ryan
Cheryl Ryan, a Struthers native, holds a dual undergraduate degree in Special Education and Regular Education from Youngstown State University. She attended The Ohio State University to further her education while beginning her career with Columbus Public Schools. Returning to her roots, Cheryl went on to achieve her master’s degree from Ashland University. During this time, she was actively involved in C.E.C., Council for Exceptional Children at the local and state level positions. She became involved with The Special Olympics, fundraising and community service at Youngstown State, as well as throughout the state of Ohio. This elevated her love to work with all children.
Her 36-year career, spanning a range of different positions, including, SBH at the high school, 8th grade language arts, 7th and 8th grade SLD, 2nd grade and currently Title 1 math at the elementary level within Struthers City Schools. This is a testament to her dedication and commitment to students and the community. She resides in Struthers with her husband Larry, two dogs Rosie and Mac and their blended family which includes 5 children and 3 grandchildren. Cheryl strives daily to be a positive role model for students, encouraging them to not let a failure hold them back in achieving their dreams.
