(Youngstown, OH) The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley and Operation Search and Help funded through The Youngstown Foundation have partnered together to purchase a special wheelchair for 17-year-old Lianne Flores who was diagnosed with Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy at the age of 8.  This special wheelchair will enable Lianne to stand and by being able to stand it will help to keep her healthy and will also help her with her dream to attend college.  It is wonderful when area organizations can come together and work together to better the lives of others. The custom-made wheelchair was provided by National Seating and Mobility, Inc.

“Her parents, myself and her brother and sisters are very happy with the support and help provided to Lianne with this special chair.  This is a dream that will provide an opportunity to make life easier for Lianne,” stated her grandmother Rose Flores.

The mission of Operation Search and Help is to provide last dollar funding assistance to children birth through age 21 in Mahoning County, Liberty, Girard, or Hubbard who have been diagnosed with a medical disability. “It is our pleasure to partner with the Hope Foundation to provide Lianne with the independence she needs to live her life to the fullest.” stated Shari Buchmann of Operation Search and Help.
