New members will enhance board’s focus on the foundations mission and help the Hope Foundation to strengthen innovation into the future.
YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley today announced five new board members and a new board chair who will each help support the nonprofit’s work focus on the future of the foundations mission and help it strengthen innovation into the future.
“We’re excited to expand our board with five new members who will bring diverse expertise and insight to our work,” said Founder/Executive Director Anthony Spano. “We have worked diligently to ensure board and leadership represents what we do in the community.”
The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley also chose The Butler Institute of American Art’s Dr. Amy Kaufman as its new board chair. Kaufman has served on the Foundation board since 2019 and most recently headed our Grant Committee. Currently working at MCBDD, George Gabriel will continue to serve as the board’s vice chair. Also elected to Board Leadership was Jennifer Ostapiak of GBS Solutions to serve as Secretary and Justin Yost, Partner of Bodine Perry, LLC to serve as Treasurer.
“I am delighted to welcome such a strong group of new board members, and I look forward to serving with each of them this year,” said Dr. Amy Kaufman Chair of the Foundation Board. “I’m also very pleased that the leadership that is in place move us into the future.
The new board members began their terms with The Hope Foundation effective this past fall and can serve a maximum of two terms. The five new board members are:
- Anita Baal, Sr. Coordinator, Contract and Billing for Cardinal Health
- Jennifer Ostapiak, Vice President of People and Culture for GBS Corp.
- Kyle Reinke, Controller for ARS Recycling Systems
- Kurt Williams, Marketing Director of Heart, Lung and Vascular for Mercy Health
- Justin Yost, Partner at Bodine Perry, LLC
Founder/Executive Director Spano & Chair Dr. Kaufman added, “On behalf of the board, we want to express our gratitude to Stacie Curtis and Jena Zarlenga who both concluded their service as a valued members and provided leadership to the board. We wish both the very best in future endeavors, and we look forward to them working with us.”
