Twenty years after a community basketball game sparked an idea, the Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will celebrate its 20th anniversary with the 15th Annual Wine for Hope on Friday, April 9, 2027, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Waypoint 4180 in Canfield.
The evening of wine tasting, dinner, community, and a silent auction anchors our “20 Years, One Mission” campaign, with a goal of $125,000 to help local children and families facing serious illness. Since 2007, the Foundation has helped more than 3,500 children and families.

Retired Youngstown State University President Dr. Cynthia Anderson and Dr. Robert Naples Sr. of Naples Family Medicine will lead the celebration.
As a physician, I see how quickly a serious diagnosis can overwhelm a family. The Hope Foundation steps in so parents can focus on their child. I’m proud to co-chair this event, and I hope the whole Valley joins us on April 9.

What’s New: VIP Cocktail Hour
A VIP Cocktail Hour from 5 to 6 p.m. kicks off the celebration. VIP tickets are $125 and limited. They include priority reserved seating, a commemorative 20th-anniversary wine glass, and recognition in the program.
H.O.P.E. Lifetime Achievement Award
The gala will present the award to someone Honorable, Outstanding, Philanthropic, and Excellent who has spent decades improving the lives of local children and families. Nominations are open through December 31, 2026 at hopemv.org/wine.
Hall of Fame Induction
We will induct Phi Kappa Tau National Fraternity into the Hall of Fame. Its brothers were among the community members at the start of the Game of Hope Basketball Event that inspired the Foundation.
