Hope Foundation Founder visits Struthers Rotary…
The October 6th meeting of the Struthers Rotary Club marked the culmination of this years’ Operation Warm project. Also at the October 6th meeting, Rotarian Kevin Freisen was host to our speaker, Tony Spano, from The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.
The Hope Foundation was founded in 2007 to improve the quality of life for our community’s chronically and terminally ill children and their families. Providing up to $10,000 per year toward their goal, the Hope Foundation sponsors the annual Hope Classic Showcase, a benefit tournament of High School Basketball teams. This years’ event will take place on December 11th and 12th at Girard High School and at the Struthers Fieldhouse and features 9 teams vying in the tournament competition, one travelling from Cincinnati. A high school basketball referee, Tony is passionate about the efforts of The Hope Foundation and the good that it provides our community.
