Founder to Receive National Honor

Spano cited for inspiring service and volunteerism….

The President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation has named Anthony Spano, Founder and Executive Director of The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, as one of the many recipients of the President’s Volunteer Service Award for 2014 to be given out this week.

The council created the award program as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. The A Way With Words Foundation, Inc nominated Mr Spano for his commitment and work in the community.

The award will be presented by A Way With Words Foundation, Inc. on Saturday, January 10th, 2pm at the Newport Library Meeting room, 3730 Market St. in Youngstown with numerous other individuals and organizations.

Founded in 2007, The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides charitable and financial support to local organizations that share its goal of improving the lives of chronically/terminally ill children.
