State of Ohio Legislators and The Hope Foundation Partner Together for Awareness Day
The Hope Foundation Begins the National Effort

The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, based in Youngstown, Ohio, has joined with a national network of organizations that share a similar mission to proclaim May 15, 2016 “All For The Kids Awareness Day.

Organizers say that there are tens-of-thousands of families across America who are struggling with the reality of a child suffering with an illness or injury that is either chronic or life threatening.

“Families, often with limited resources, are doing everything in their power to provide the highest level of care and comfort to a suffering son or daughter,” says Anthony Spano, executive director of The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.  “By creating awareness on a local, state and national level the participating nonprofits hope to focus more attention on the pervasiveness of this issue. There are hundreds of locally based nonprofit organizations in America that share a similar mission to that of The Hope Foundation.”

More about the Awareness Day

These organizations exist to provide assistance and support to these families and require financial and volunteer support in order to fulfill their missions.  “Our goal is to turn awareness into increased community support,” says Spano.

State Senator Joe Schiavoni has introduced legislation and has bi-partisan sponsorship in Columbus to officially recognize May 15th as “All For The Kids Awareness Day.”  “The Hope Foundation has done amazing work with children and families in need of support during the most trying times of their lives.  I am proud to introduce legislation in Columbus to garner bipartisan support for all the good work being done in the Mahoning Valley.  Helping to recognize those efforts by establishing this special day will go a long way toward building awareness” stated Senator Schiavoni.

In addition for Senator Schiavoni’s support, Awareness Day is also supported by Senators Capri Cafaro & Tom Sawyer (Akron), Congressman Tim Ryan and Representative John Boccieri. For support letters or more information, go to www.hopemv.org.
